Sport & Games

We do not believe in "all work and no play" - games takes place most days, with substantial periods timetabled for leisure activities, after-school clubs or just mucking about.

We have built up a fine - and well deserved - reputation for sporting achievement, with a reputation that strikes fear into many much larger and long established schools. We play regular matches against other schools and ensure that every boy has an opportunity to represent the school in sport at some time.

Outdoor games are played on Trinity Fields or on the public pitches on Wandsworth Common directly across the road from the school.

We have a strong tradition of excellent - and vociferous - support from parents whom we encourage to attend as many school or House matches as possible. Matron is always on hand with warming refreshments!

The major sports we play are football, rugby and cricket but boys also play hockey, basketball and tennis, and compete in athletics.

We recognise that not all boys are destined, or want, to be sporting heroes. We deal with this by making sure that boys are coached in games with others of similar ability so that each can enjoy his sport at his own level. And, although we look for a degree of physical activity and fitness in all boys, we are sensitive if a boy truly dislikes sports or shows little aptitude for them, and will always try to find something else from which he can derive pleasure.
