On a bright but very cold Wednesday afternoon in March, the under 11 A rugby team entered the annual Northcote Lodge 7's tournament. We played Hornsby House in the opening game in our pool and won convincingly by 33 points to nil, scoring 5 tries.

Our second match was a little tougher against WCCS; however we came through winning by 28 points to nil. We then played a weakened Surbiton Prep team who we put 8 tries past and ended up winning 48 points to nil.

We had qualified for the semi-finals without conceding a try, which was quite an achievement in a fast paced tournament. In the semi-final, we met Tower House who we beat convincingly 41 points to nil.

We then moved towards the final match of the tournament with confidence running high, still not having conceded a try. Here we met Hornsby House who has been improving throughout the course of the tournament and scored in the opening minutes. Our heads went down but after a passionate half time team talk, we came out fighting with Aidan Osabase running in a try followed by myself running in second and then William Swan completing a strong comeback and sealing the overall victory of the game and the tournament.

All the team played their role and we are now looking forward to heading off to Wales and teaching them how the great game should be played!
