Northcote Lodge is not, unfortunately, able to give places to all boys who apply – we have 40 places available each year, of which roughly half go to boys from Broomwood Hall, who have priority entry, and another five or so to siblings of boys already in the school (see Family). We do not enrol more boys than we have places available; however, it often happens that there is a fall-out between the initial offer of places in November and the following September when boys are due to start.
We therefore operate a short Waiting List for boys to whom we are unable to offer places straight away, but who are otherwise well qualified to join Northcote Lodge, and parents of such boys will be offered the opportunity of going on to it.
There is no charge for inclusion on the Waiting List, and while it offers no guarantee of eventual success, in our experience there is an excellent chance that we will be able to offer boys on it a place.
