We have a number of positions of responsibility designed to encourage boys to help with the smooth running of the school, and to exercise leadership by example. Currently, positions of responsibility are the following:

- the Head Boy is a boy from Form 5, nominated by the Headmaster in consultation with the staff. There is also a deputy Head Boy
- House Captains are boys from Form 5, appointed in July for the following academic year
- Team Captains are boys nominated by the Head of Games in consultation with the staff
- House Prefects appointed by the Headmaster as necessary from Form 5
- Monitors are chosen from Remove boys in the second half of Trinity Term They carry out prefect duties (but do not enjoy t he privileges)
- the School Council Chairman is a Form 5 boy chosen by the Headmaster
- the Head Chorister is chosen by the Head of Music
- the Librarian is a Form 5 boy chosen by the Head of English
- Form Captains are chosen each term from each form by the form teacher

The responsibilities attached to these positions vary from time to time, as does the length of the appointment.
