The Northcote Award is a voluntary course for boys in Remove that runs from January to June. Boys are asked to devise ideas involving three aspects of their life in and out of school. The first is contributing to school life; eg.tidying a part of the playground, listening to juniors read or collecting the re-cycled paper. Second, they are asked to help at home by washing the family car over a period of time or helping wash the dishes. The final part is helping in their community by tidying up their local library, cutting the lawn of an elderly neighbour or cleaning out a village pond.
The letters and e-mails the monitors receive from the people the boys have worked for goes towards the medal and certificate they receive at the end of the Trinity Term. There are three grades; Pass, Merit & Distinction.
