French
This starts in Shell; there are French lessons twice a week and the boys have a great deal of fun. French lessons increase as the boys progress through the school; from Form 3 there are three lessons a week; Remove and Form 5 have four lessons a week. All boys take French at Common Entrance and our aim is that they leave Northcote Lodge with a good knowledge of French.
As part of the French programme we arrange for Remove boys to spend a week staying in a French chateau. Such trips are designed to give the boys a taste of la vie en France, exposing them to a different culture (and forcing them to speak a little French!).
