All forms apart from Shell go on at least one excursion a year which involves spending one or more nights away. In the past these have included 5 nights at Flatford Mill environmental studies centre (Form 2); a geography field trip to Somerset Form 3); a week at Chateau de la Baudonnière (Remove); an outward bound week at Plas-y-Brenin in North Wales after Common Entrance (Form 5). The latter two are done in conjunction with Broomwood Hall Upper School. Further field trips are always under consideration, especially for Remove and Form 5.
Field Trips are included in the fees, apart from certain field trips that are either one-off or occur irregularly (e.g. foreign choir tours and cricket trips).
These field trips are compulsory, and it is a condition of attendance at the school that all boys take part in them. They are a vital part of the boys’ education – we are a day school, and there are some things we simply cannot do in London.
