Design Technology
This discipline – an important part of the National Curriculum – is all about designing and making things; for example a wheeled vehicle no longer than 20cm, which will travel at least 2 metres under its own power; the tallest possible self- supporting structure using a newspaper and 50cm of masking tape; a small self- supporting decorative picture frame; a new design for the garden. Boys are taught to develop their skills and to use particular tools. Most forms have at least one double lesson each week taught by a specialist teacher.
