Attendance at school is compulsory for all boys, every day. No boy should be absent from school without permission unless there is an unavoidable reason, in which case parents should send a letter of explanation to school. Where a boy is unwell and unable to come to school parents should telephone and leave a message with the office or on his form teacher’s voicemail (this is especially important if a boy normally comes to school on his own). A letter must accompany the boy on his return and be given to the form teacher. See also Illness.
Requests for leave of absence during the course of the term will almost always be refused – we much prefer not to be asked! Parents are particularly requested not to arrange holidays during the term.
