Looking out over Wandsworth Common it is hard to believe that we are so close to the heart of London. And yet the school is wonderfully
placed, within (literally) a cricket ball's throw of the Common and the leafy residential streets leading off it, with its playing fields and open spaces, all of which we use and benefit from every day.
Northcote Lodge is an attractive (Grade II listed) mid-Victorian mansion on the corner of Bolingbroke Grove and Dents Road, SW11. The school, built in the 1870s by the architect E. R. Robson, Chief Architect to the Schools Board for London stands in its own grounds of just over one acre. Today, although a school, it still feels more like a home than an institution.
The grounds and buildings have been progressively modernised and, whilst very much retaining the feel of a boys' prep school, provide all the facilities to be expected of a forward-looking educational establishment. We have our own gym for indoor sporting activities and dramatic productions, a health centre, and a recently created Music School.
Recent developments included the addition of a new building providing a dining room and kitchens, Junior School library and four new classrooms; and the complete re-landscaping of the grounds, which has greatly enhanced the recreational facilities available to the boys
