The history curriculum at Northcote Lodge gives the pupils not only knowledge of British historical events, but also some of the events that have contributed to the history of other people in different parts of the world. We try and get the pupils involved and interested in the subject by encouraging them to ask questions and express their opinions. In other words to become historians themselves. This we begin at a basic level in the junior school, but expand and develop further in the senior school.

Planet Earth is awesome, diverse, inspiring and ever-changing. At Northcote we are passionate about discovering how our world works and what impact humans are having on its fragile existence. Children are able to draw on their vast wealth of personal experiences to bring more insight, interest and relevance to our studies.
